Windows
Pentium 800 or higher processor speed is
recommended, running Windows XP, Windows 2000, or
Windows Vista. A slower computer will require longer download time
for graphics, text, etc.Macintosh
If you use a Mac, it must be a PowerPC G3,
G4, G5, or Intel processor running Mac OS X. You
should have at least 256 MB of RAM.
Internet Access
Dial up connections are not recommended. If you
can only get a dial up connection, it should be 56k.
Broadband (DSL or Cable) access is recommended. Faster
connections shorten download time for graphics,
text, and other media.
If you do not have an Internet Service provider
(ISP) you will need to set up an account with one.
Unlimited dial-up Internet access usually costs
less than $15.00/month. DSL access is usually around
$30.00/month and cable access is around
$40.00/month.
If you are on campus and have a laptop and a
wireless card you can access the Internet via the
wireless network.
WildCat Account
You will need an active WildCat account. Your
WildCat ID and password is the information you will
need to log on to WSU Online, as well as access the WildCat
Mail system. In order to use WSU Online or your WildCat Mail account, you must activate
your account. This can be done at the Weber State
Eservices page.
Note: Your instructor may be sending "group"
e-mail (e-mail to all the students in their online
course) through the e-mail domain weber.edu to your
WildCat e-mail account. It is
important for you not to block mail messages from
weber.edu or you may miss important
information or instructions from your instructor.

To take a WSU Online course, you must have a
validated Internet browser. To find out which version you currently
have, click the Help menu in your browser and select About Internet

this site:

in the online course environment. The web site for
the tune-up is
http://wsuonline.weber.edu/tuneup. Please make
sure you do the browser tune up before attempting to
access your class. This is a very important step!
CD Request
If you have a slow Internet connection or would
prefer to use a CD to install your browser,
you can obtain a free technology resource CD from
the IT Service Desk. |
