No, WSU Online is
not going away. We
have simply changed
the way we deliver
your online courses. |

You will need to
attend training
before you can teach
in the new system.
You can sign up for
this training via
the
training tracker
in the online
portal. You will
also be in charge of
transferring your
course to the new
system. Check with
your continuing
education liaison for
further details.

- Go through the
Helpful Hints.
)
- Make sure you
make all changes
in your course
template first,
before assigning
the template to a
section.
- You may want
to log in to the
faculty portal and
send an e-mail
message to all of
your students
before class
begins (select
Class Rolls, then
your section, then
click Email). You
can encourage your
students to do the
browser tuneup
and also let them
know about the
student
orientations that
will be held on
campus during the
first two weeks of
the semester. The
schedule of the
student
orientations is
posted as an
announcement on
WebCT and also on
the Student
portal.

Students will not be
able to access your
spring sections in
WebCT Vista until
after you assign a
template to the
section, even if
they are enrolled in
the section. When a
student attempts to
open a course that
doesn’t have a
template assigned,
he/she will get this
message: “This
course is not
available yet.
Contact the Section
Instructor for this
course.” To
assign a template to
a course section,
click on the section
in your course list,
then select the
template you want to
assign to the
section. |

NO! You can rename
your old templates
if you wish, but do
not delete them
without first
checking with the
WSU Online staff.
Vista uses linked
content quite
extensively and you
may be deleting some
important content
when you delete a
template. |

The campus help desk
(626-7777) is the
best number to call
for technical
problems or
questions.
If your question is
about the design of
your course or how
to do something in
WebCT, contact the
instructional
designer assigned to
your college (see

Your department
secretary may order
books for your
class. Check with
the secretary before
you order books for
your class from the
bookstore. If you
are ordering your
own books, go to the
online bookstore
order form.
Your students may
also order books
from the bookstore
online. |
