Course Demo: MFET 4770
The participant guide is extremely well-written, with the exception of Session 1, which feels a little jumbled and not smooth.  However, there is a GREAT DEAL of good, practical information in this module, which will greatly assist managers, directors and supervisors in making practical changes in their company.  The instructor's notes are supplemental to the participant guide and will clarify some areas. In addition there are some errors in your participant guide which are corrected in the instructor notes for each session.

Please read Session 1 in your participant guide.

Review the supplemental information found in the instructor’s notes.  (You may choose to print these notes first and include them in the session as you read it.)

Take the performance check found on pages 1-73 through 1-77 of the participant workbook. Review and compare your choices with the correct answers.

Review new terms for this session in the 9th Edition Dictionary.  Also review these Terms that are not found in the Dictionary.
Terms

You need to understand these terms both for this course and for the APICS international certification exam. This list is taken from the 2000 Exam Content Manual, which states "This list is intended to be thorough … but not exhaustive. A review of the definitions for these terms will reveal other important terminology."

In looking through the book, there are other terms I feel should be added to the list, such as "voice of the customer" and "volume/variety matrix".  I mention this so that you will include extra terms on your list to review when you go through the sessions.  I have separated the terms listed in the Exam Content Manual by the session in which the explanation is given in the participant guide.  You can be assured that the APICS certification exam will test heavily on terminology.  If the APICS 9th Edition Dictionary does not define these terms, then I have included some definitions at the end of this list.  However, some terms are well-defined in your class material.  This is particularly true for Session 5 additional terms.
