Course Demo: MFET 4150

The participant guide is extremely well-written. There is a GREAT DEAL of good, practical information in this module, which will greatly assist managers, directors and supervisors in making practical changes in their company.  The instructor's notes are supplemental to the participant guide and will clarify some areas.

Please read Session 1 in your participant guide.

Review the supplemental information found in the instructor’s notes.  (You may choose to print these notes first and include them in the session as you read it.)

Take the performance check found on pages 1-55 through 1-57 of the participant workbook. Review and compare your choices with the Correct Answers

Review the New Terms for this session in the 9th Edition Dictionary.

New Terms

You need to understand these terms both for this course and for the APICS national exam.   This list is taken from the 2000 Exam Content Manual, which states "This list is intended to be thorough, but not exhaustive. The candidate is also expected to be familiar with the definitions of terms identified in the curriculum. Definitions of these terms can be found in the APICS Dictionary, Ninth Edition."

In looking through the book, there are several terms that I feel should be added to the list, such as "velocity costing" and "shipment linearity".  I mention this so that you will include extra terms on your list to review when you go through the sessions.  I have separated the terms listed here by the session in which the explanation is given in the participant guide.  You can be assured that the APICS national exam will test heavily on terminology.
